These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of this website (the “Website”), operated by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Singapore (“AMMS”, “we”, “us” or “our”), a charity registered in Singapore under UEN S90CC0733J, of Masjid Taha, 118 Onan Road, Singapore 424530.
By accessing or using the Website you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
1. What these Terms cover
These Terms apply to the public pages of the Website — the information we publish about Islam, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and our activities in Singapore.
AMMS separately operates a members’ area for members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Singapore. Use of that area is governed by additional Members’ Terms & Privacy Notice, which members receive when their access is granted and can read at any time within the members’ area.
2. Access to the members’ area
There is no public sign-up. You cannot create an account on this Website. Accounts for the members’ area are issued by AMMS to members it has identified, and access is arranged directly by AMMS administrators.
Where an account has been issued to you, it is personal to you and not transferable. Do not share your credentials or allow anyone else to use your account. Tell us immediately at mail@ahmadiyya.org.sg if you suspect unauthorised use. We may suspend, restrict or withdraw access at any time — including where these Terms are breached or where a person’s membership status changes.
3. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the Website for any unlawful purpose, or in breach of any Singapore law including the Computer Misuse Act 1993 and the Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act 1990;
- send us content that is false, misleading, defamatory, obscene, threatening or harassing, or that incites hatred or ill-will between religious or racial groups;
- impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or organisation;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system or non-public part of the Website, or probe, scan or test its vulnerability;
- scrape, harvest, mine or systematically extract data from the Website, including by automated means; or
- introduce malware, or otherwise interfere with, disrupt or overload the Website or its infrastructure.
We may investigate suspected breaches, restrict access, and refer matters to the authorities.
4. Intellectual property
All content on the Website — including text, articles, translations, images, logos, audio, video and the design and arrangement of the site — is owned by or licensed to AMMS or its affiliated organisations and is protected by the Copyright Act 2021 and other applicable laws.
You may view, download and print material from the Website for your own personal, non-commercial, religious or educational use. Members of the press and others may quote from the Website provided the material is reproduced accurately, is not used in a misleading context, and is attributed to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission Singapore with a link to the source page.
Any other reproduction, adaptation, distribution or commercial use requires our prior written permission. Requests may be sent to mail@ahmadiyya.org.sg.
“Ahmadiyya Muslim Community”, “Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission”, the minaret emblem and related names and marks are the property of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and may not be used in a way that suggests endorsement or affiliation without our permission.
5. Religious and informational content
Material on the Website about Islam, the Holy Qur’an, Hadith and the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is provided for information and religious education. Translations and commentaries are provided for convenience; where there is any inconsistency, the original Arabic text and the authorised publications of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community prevail.
Nothing on the Website constitutes legal, financial, medical or other professional advice, and it should not be relied upon as such.
6. Third-party links
The Website links to third-party websites, including alislam.org and the websites of affiliated Ahmadiyya organisations. We do not control those websites and are not responsible for their content, availability or practices. Access is at your own risk and subject to their own terms.
7. Availability
We aim to keep the Website available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may suspend, withdraw or restrict all or part of the Website for maintenance, security or operational reasons, and may change or discontinue content and features at any time.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Website and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or the accuracy, completeness or currency of any content.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, AMMS and its office bearers, volunteers, employees and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill or anticipated savings, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Website.
Where liability cannot lawfully be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Website is limited to one hundred Singapore dollars (S$100).
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AMMS and its office bearers, volunteers, employees and agents against any claims, losses, liabilities and reasonable expenses arising out of your breach of these Terms or your misuse of the Website.
11. Privacy
Our handling of personal data in connection with the Website is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may amend these Terms from time to time. The amended version takes effect when posted on this page and the “last updated” date above will change. Your continued use of the Website after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the amended Terms.
13. General
- Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, form the entire agreement between you and AMMS in relation to the Website.
- Severability. If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.
- No waiver. A failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later.
- Third-party rights. A person who is not a party to these Terms has no right under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 2001 to enforce any of its provisions.
14. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or their subject matter, are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Singapore. You and AMMS submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
